A full rebuild of ChargePoint’s driver portals (US and EU) for 100k+ EV users

Vision

Create a unified, accessible, and multilingual digital experience for EV drivers, balancing compliance, usability, and cultural relevance.

Scope

  • Rebuilt the US and EU driver portals from the ground up.
  • Implemented WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across all core features.
  • Localized the portal for 15 locales, ensuring cultural relevance and usability.
  • Established QA processes for accessibility and localization.

Goals

  • Achieve full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance (verified across all core features).
  • Launch in all 15 locales (delivered in v1 release).
  • Establish a QA process for accessibility and localization (adopted by EU QA teams).
  • Reduce post-release defects (achieved −35% defect rate compared to the previous portal).
  • Create reusable testing and documentation templates (implemented for future product lines).
